Apple cider is still on the shelves in stores and since I know it will be disappearing soon I bought my last half gallon yesterday. Along with most of the country, it is still freezing here in Buffalo with crazy negative windshields. This hot salted caramel apple cider is helping me stay warm today. One of my favorite fall beverages, it’s still just as tasty in January. This takes just a couple ingredients and less than 5 minutes to make.
Yield: One 2 cup serving or Two 1 cup servings
You will need:
2 cups apple cider
dash of cinnamon
dash of nutmeg
whipped cream
2 tsp. salted caramel sauce
Directions:
1. Put cider in a small pot, add a dash of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg. Stir and bring to a very low boil.
2. As soon as the cider starts to boil, stir in 1 tsp of salted caramel sauce, turn off the heat and remove from stove. Let it cool for about 5-10 minutes depending on desired temperature.
3. Pour cider into mug and top with whipped cream and remaining tsp of salted caramel sauce and serve immediately.
Enjoy!
