Welcome! I’m Erin, founder and author of Pumpkins & Spice. Here you will find some pumpkin, some spice and a whole lot of everything nice! I created this site as a way of capturing the beauty, joy & flavor of the fall season all in one place.
There are those who love fall and then there are those who really love fall. Needless to say I fall into the latter and fortunately I know I have a lot of company. One very early morning in September 2012 while out on my morning walk I was thinking about how much I love this time of year. I love everything from the changes in wardrobe and accessories to the changes in my cooking style, the changes in my home décor, and of course the beautiful changes in nature. I love pumpkins, mums, cozy sweaters, hot apple cider, pumpkin cookies, apple picking, apple baking, slow cooking, the sound of crunching leaves under my feet, cool & crisp air, Octoberfest celebrations, hay rides, cool fall nights wrapped in a big blanket by a crackling fire, and the list goes on.
The first name that came to mind when I decided to embark on this little blogging venture was “Pumpkins & Spice”, but I thought the odds of being able to secure the name were slim to none. I did a quick name check early in the morning (before most alarm clocks go off early) and was so excited to see the name available. Less than three minutes later the wheels were in motion and Pumpkins & Spice was created. In early 2016 I decided to start adding some occasional off-season content as a way to stay in touch with my readers throughout the year.
I’ve lived in the Buffalo, NY region my entire life and work full time in IT Sales & Market Development. In my spare time you will find me working on Pumpkins & Spice, entertaining family & friends, cooking, baking, decorating, working on my photography skills, hiking, on the water, playing with my nieces & nephews, watching sweet Hallmark movies with predictable happy endings, writing or working with one of my many favorite causes.
I hope you enjoy the Pumpkins & Spice content. Please feel free to express your thoughts. Comments, questions & ideas are always welcome. I can be reached via e-mail at erin@pumpkinsnspice.com.
