One of my guilty pleasures is a cheese plate paired with the perfect glass of wine. I may even prefer this over chocolate (may). Last spring one of my best friends and I were both contemplating some pretty big decisions. So, what better way to do that than to take a girls weekend away to talk and get another perspective? A girls weekend in a location where your hotel is located next to a wine bar. We ended up at The Wine Bar in Saratoga Springs, NY not once, but twice in the two days we were there. It was a great little spot where you could create your own cheese plate from an amazing selection of cheeses, fruits and nuts, and then select your wine to go along with it.
To create a great cheese plate with some fall flavor at home, I picked up a prepared cheese pack paired with a buttery brie, a little bleu cheese and a mild cheddar accompanied by some dried cranberries, apricots and candied nuts. I added some fresh apple slices and mild toast crackers. Cheddar and apples together is one of my ultimate fall favorite flavor combinations. Pair with a nice wine and you can’t go wrong. Enjoy!
